For the final of the Euro Finans Padel Swedish Open 2019, Paquito-Lebron defeated Matias Diaz and Franco Stupaczuc 6-3 7-6. On the road to the final, they defeated all of their opponents convincingly.without loosing any single set.
During 2019, Paquito-Lebron reached the decisive match in seven of the eight World Padel Tour events; they walked home with the trophy in four occasions. This positions them as a serious challenger to the current no.1 team and on track to become the first all Spanish no.1 padel team in history.
Sanyo-Maxi, Doubts
For their part, the no.1 ranked team, Sanyo Gutierrez and Maxi Sanchez lost one once more in the 1/8F against a qualifier team, 3-6 6-7. This initiated a a process of self questioning for the current leaders. Nito Brea, their trainer, left his position as head coach immediately after the their loss.
